Next Steps for House Captains

Here's what's next for us and for you as we prepare for a successful Rebuilding Day:

1)  This week and next I will process all of your Online Project Scopes--extracting all the details we need and clarifying with you.

2)  At the same time, I'll send you and your homeowner the Scope of Work that is created from your Online Scope.  We'll email it to you so be sure to review it asap and let us know if there are any changes--before it gets shared with the homeowner at the Homeowner Orientations.

3)  I'll also be sending you a pdf of your online scope so you'll have access to the information you submitted.

4)  Next week we order supplies, paint, appliances, dumpsters, porta-johns, etc.  Be sure you get your Online Scope in this week if you want to be included in this order.

5)  In the next few weeks, we'll be sending out your credit cards (Lowes, Home Depot and OSH).  Your Online Scope must be turned in before I can send these out.

6)  And finally, we hope to have the kinks worked out in our database so that you can have access to the volunteers who've signed up for your project.  That way you can check to see who's signed up, what their skills are and what tools they have.  We'll send you the information you'll need to access the database once it's all set up.

Thank You to the following House Captains...

I truly appreciate all of you who have signed on as House Captains this Rebuilding season.  House Captains are the integral part that makes it all work (or not work!)  First of all, we couldn't do the project without you.  Secondly, you provide the link between the homeowner, the work that is to be done, the materials, the volunteers and all of us here at the Rebuilding Together office.  You are the key to making it all happen!  Thank you for your willingness to give of yourself so that someone's home is improved, someone's life is made a little easier.

As you all know, the deadline for turning in your Online Project Scope was yesterday.  I know many of you just received your Project Match at the end of last week.  If at all possible, I would like everyone's Scope by this Friday, Sept. 23.  Hopefully that will give all of you enough time to visit your project and get the scope filled out.  It may be a push, but it will keep us on schedule for getting everything ready for you so that you can have a successful project!!

A special thank you to the following House Captains who were able to meet the September 19 deadline.  I know some of you weren't able to meet the deadline because you just received your project, but I also know some of you really went out of your way to make sure you met the deadline.  And I want you to know how much I appreciate it.

I'd like to especially recognize Robert MacDonald for being the first House Captain to submit his scope!  Thanks Robert!
